2017 Gold Coast Urban Design Awards
Nominations for the 2017 awards are now open for urban design projects that have enhanced the Gold Coast city’s image and quality of life for both residents and visitors.
Established in 1998, the Gold Coast Urban Design Awards have become widely renowned for its recognition of innovative design, liveability and sustainability.
From schools to high rise buildings, all commercial, public and community projects are eligible for nomination, with previous winners including Gold Coast Light Rail, Capri on Via Roma, and Chinatown.
All entries for the 2017 Gold Coast Urban Design Awards will be judged by a selection panel comprised of industry experts from the fields of architecture, planning, landscape architecture, and construction, headed by renowned architect, Ms Caroline Stalker, Design Director Australasia, Arup and member of the Queensland Chapter Australian Institute of Architects.
This year’s awards ceremony will coincide with the 10th International Urban Design Conference, with this year highlighting the theme of Disruption, Divergence and Designed Intervention – Making Change Happen.
The Conference will be held on 13 to 15 November 2017 at Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort & Spa, and is expected to attract overseas delegates, as well as those from across Australia. The awards will feature on the first evening of the conference on Monday 13 November 2017.
The 10th International Urban Design Welcome Reception will be held in conjunction with the City of Gold Coast Urban Design Awards.
