The Gents: Signs of Hobart Walking Tour

Dale Campisi and Brady Michaels – aka The Gents – travelled more than 40,000kms around Australia in search of the country’s best vintage signs for their photography book Signs of Australia: vintage signs from the city to the outback. The Gents will host a special walking tour of Hobart CBD, which is rich in vintage signs and traces of the city’s industrial and advertising heritage. During the walk, they will reveal some hidden gems and stories behind the city’s built environment. You won’t look at Hobart quite the same way again – bring your camera!

Dark Skies Walking Tours of Hobart

Take a one hour guided walking tour of Hobart after dark through the eyes of a lighting professional. Learn how the lighting we add to our city impacts the way we use it and the environment around us. This tour is hosted by Landon Bannister, President, International Dark Sky Association Tasmania Inc and is included in your registration.

This one-hour walk will be hosted by members of the Australasian Dark Sky Association (ADSA) who will give a unique insight in to Hobart after dark. ADSA is the world’s premier organisation set up to fight light pollution- the inappropriate or excessive use of artificial light at night. As you wind your way through the Hobart streets you will experience various examples, both good and bad, of how electric lighting influences the way people interact with their city at night and the impact this is having on our planet.
